Ossie Clark
early Seventies

Utterly heavenly Ossie Clark dress in wispy, ethereal Celia Birtwell's flower and trellis-printed muslin. Slightly transparent, heavily gathered in a narrow front panel then wafting gently into a ruffled hem from the fitted plunge bodice. The sleeves are puffed at the shoulder then taper into narrow forearms, finished off beautifully with the double ruffle at the top of each sleeve.

It's a rare beauty, seemingly delicate but very resilient in its featherlight muslin weave. You can even wash it, albeit carefully, unlike moss crepe! Mere words can never do justice to such works of art....but frankly I could witter on forever about running barefoot in fields and pirouetting around flowerbeds in this dress.
